The most ambitious and expansive exhibition to date of contemporary artworks created with augmented reality (AR) technology continues at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens? Historic Spanish Point campus through September 2023. Seeing the Invisible features works by more than a dozen international artists such as Ai Weiwei and El Anatsui?including several artists? first work in AR. Visitors engage with Seeing the Invisible via an app designed for the exhibition and downloadable to smartphones and tablets. This innovative show is on view simultaneously at several other gardens and museums in different countries, fostering collaboration between institutions, artists, and audiences and highlighting the power of art to connect people around the world.

The teen improv troupe aka ?The Teenyboppers? has been bringing laughter to the community since Spring 2019. Improv is a fun, fast-paced art form that?requires the actor to think outside of the box. It demands focus, a willingness to listen and engage, and tells a story without the safety net of a script. Join them at the end of each semester for a night of laughs! 2 other performances will be given on Sunday, Nov.20 and Sunday, April 23, 2023.? They will also begin at 7:30.

Studio space is available for artists on select Wednesday mornings or Saturday afternoons. Students will have a choice of space for table or easel work, and with a draped or undraped model. The cost is $15 for members per session, and $20 for nonmembers. Registration will be available starting the 15th of the month for the month following. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens? 2023 Jean & Alfred Goldstein Exhibition Tiffany: The Pursuit of Beauty in Nature will showcase the creativity and innovation of American artist and designer Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933). The first exhibition of its type to be presented in a botanical garden, the exhibition will highlight the inspiring connection between Tiffany Studios and the natural world through unique horticultural displays in the Tropical Conservatory and the Gardens, accompanied by seminal examples of Tiffany?s work on view in the Museum of Botany & the Arts.

An inspirational journey through American pop music, ?Dreamgirls? chronicles the rise of a fictional Motown group?The Dreams?from obscurity to superstardom. Through gospel, R&B, pop, disco and more, the show explores themes of ambition, hope and betrayal, all set in the glamorous and competitive world of the music industry. Music is by Henry Krieger, with lyrics and book by Tom Eyen. ?Dreamgirls? opened in December 1981 at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway. It was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and won six. The?Stearns Point Quartet?was?formed on Shelter Island, NY in October of 2022, practically by chance, when four long-time friends and colleagues (KJ McDonald and Phoebe Gardner, violins, Julian Seney, viola, and Leland Ko, cello) had the chance to do some community engagement events with the Perlman Music Program. As they worked together for a few days, performed, and presented music to other musicians and to schools in the area, they discovered that their long-time friendship, their love for chamber music and for storytelling, was something worth pursuing together, even if they lived in different places. The Stearns Point Quartet will be performing at Thomas McGuire Hall at the Sarasota Art Museum, 1001 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34236.
